I opened with Samson and Delilah, then introduced Ava Bird who continued her series of letters from the Family Cat, who’s sick of having the humans around all.the.time. I then played my earlier conversation with Frank Cordaro of the Des Moines Catholic Worker, who talked about the ubiquitous violence in the USA, which he blames on the devil and our traditions.

The second segment as usual featured Philip Farruggio with It’s the Empire, Stupid. His column this week was “I’m the Pied Piper” about the dumbing down of our population and the ongoing disinformation campaigns. We discussed it afterwards.

The third segment had Azzurra Crispino of Prison Abolition Prisoner Support, who talked at some length about policing since bad policing puts people in prison and that’s not helping. She mentioned armored baby vehicles as an example of the craziness in the way we spend money on things that produce corporate income instead of things that benefit human beings. Defunding the police is a phrase that is being bandied about, but the idea is to change the spending; rather than militarizing police, provide programs that address the issues that cause violence. It was an excellent segment.

The final part had Karen Kwiatkowski, who tried to make sense of the wild goings on, the different realities all happening at the same time. She discussed the use of government power to control the people, as demonstrated all over the world, and how the amazing amount of information available to us via the Internet and other sources does NOT include what’s going on in government. The control exhibited by government is out of control.

Great guests!
